Shopping Booths & Food Booths

Friday: 11 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Sunday: 10 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Visit our Bavarian-Style Christmas market on Front Street and inside the Festhalle.  There you’ll find authentic Bavarian foods, Handmade arts and crafts and gifts for all.

Lantern Workshop

Friday: 11 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
At the Leavenworth Festhalle
The Lantern Workshop is a favorite with children each year. Each child can purchase a lantern to decorate with a variety of festive supplies on hand including glue, glitter, stickers and so much more.

There is a choice of two different lanterns available for a small fee.

Lantern Parade

Friday and Saturday: 5:00 p.m.
Parade starts at the Leavenworth Festhalle
Carrying their hand-crafted, glowing lanterns, the children and their parents will follow Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus through the streets to the Gazebo where the Christkind will welcome everyone.

Welcome Ceremony

Friday and Saturday evenings – following the Lantern Parade Gazebo on Front Street
In traditional fashion the Christkind will welcome all to the Market and share wishes for the Christmas holiday season. The dream of most girls in Germany is to be the “Christkind” or “Golden Angel” which is the symbol of Christmas in German-speaking countries. She will be joined by City dignitaries, and Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus. Leavenworth’s own Enzian Alphorns, and the Boellerschutzen. A variety of holiday music will be enjoyed by all.

Entertainment

A variety of holiday and traditional Bavarian music will be heard throughout Christkindlmarkt. You are sure to enjoy Leavenworth’s favorite local choral and band groups.
